Album of The Day – Sweet Inspirations “Sweets for my Sweet” (1969)

Sweets For My Sweet

Fronted by Cissy┬áHouston (Whitney’s Mom), The Sweet Inspirations were everyone’s favorite back up singers in the sixties working with Elvis, Van Morrison, Aretha Franklin and others. ┬áHere is a great clip of them chillin’ with The King.

They had lots of tracks that did okay on the R&B charts and one single that cracked the top 20 on the pop charts. Every song on this album sounds fantastic and the three previous albums to this one are really great too. If you don’t love the first track on this album something is probably wrong with you.
